The final exbition

 02/03/2024

This morning, I went back to the Cadman building to arrange the art pieces with Rico and waited for Glen to come and pick the artpiece up. Anna provided a van for Rico and me so that we wouldn't have to bring the pieces ourselves in the horrible weather. When I took the train to Kidsgrove Canal, the weather was terrible: rainy, cold, and sleet. Especially after I got down from the Kidsgrove train station, the rain seemed heavier. The weather report had mentioned that the rain would last from 9 in the morning until the afternoon, so I was quite worried that the exhibition might be cancelled. However, when we started the art trails, the rain almost stopped, and visitors could enjoy the art journey.

Initially, I was quite nervous and my speech was not very fluent. However, as I interacted with more visitors, I realized that they were really interested in our art pieces and wanted to know more about them. This helped me gain confidence, and I was able to communicate with them more effectively. The visitors were appreciative of our work and gave us some valuable feedback.  Some families even brought their children along and the kids were particularly attracted to my cartoon characters. It was heartening to see the visitors engage with our art and appreciate the effort we had put in.

In addition, everyone was using their talents to promote their art and making some workshops, which I was appreciated. I prepared some stickers for visitors to take home, but the only thing I regretted was that I only estimated about 30 stickers, which was not enough. I even gave out my own stickers, but it still ran out. Therefore, next time I will be sure to prepare more for spares.

After experiencing various moods during the whole day, I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition. The end result was exceptionally good, and I am grateful for contributing significantly to our installation. Glen, a remarkable photographer, not only captured stunning shots of our artwork but also helped us with the transportation of the art pieces. His assistance was invaluable. Their contributions and hard work were fundamental to our success, and I am grateful to have had such an experience working with those professionals.
